STAR WARS
THE FORCE AWAKENS
Published in 2015 star wars: the force awakens is a multi stranded, anti realist movie. It follows some theorist ideals, like:
Prop's character roles
- The hero is played by Ray
- villain - Kylo Ren
- Donor - Maz Kanata
- Dispatcher - BB8
- False hero - Finn
- Helper - Hans Solo and Chewbacca
- Princess - the Galaxy
- Farther - Hans Solo
Levi - Stratuss' binary oppositions
This is used for the character Finn. He started of as a stormtrooper working for the likes of Kylo Ren then decided that he no longer wanted to fight for him and turned good and helped fight him instead.
Todoror's equilibrium theory
- State of equilibrium
- Disruption of equilibrium
- Recognition of disruption
- Attempting to fix it
- New equilibrium
- State of balance in Rays world
- Her world went upside down after her village/town was attacked
- She leaves with BB8
- Tries to fix/ change her life for the better by joining the good guys
- She angers/ prevents Kylo Ren from doing further damage to the universe by making herself his equal.
A good start Lily - could you identify any other binary opposites in Star Wars? Also, think about Uses and Gratification theory - why do people want to watch Star Wars - particularly MODERN audiences. Does it vary from when it first came out vs the modern sequels?
